Application to Master’s (Non-Thesis) Programs

Applications for Master’s Degree (Non-Thesis) Programs Required Documents and Important Information

1) Passport Photo (in JPG format with maximum size of 2 MB)

2) ALES / GRE Certificate

A minimum ALES quantitative/ GRE General Test quantitative score required by the program the prospective student applies for. Note that these exams are valid for 5 years.

ALES Exam Result will be retrieved from Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) during online application and this information will be used in application evaluation. If a GRE General Test quantitative score will be used in the application process, the applicant must manually enter its information into the online application system and upload the GRE exam document as a PDF file to the system.

For the application for the Non-thesis Master’s Programs which accept evidence of total number of work days instead of ALES score, it is required that the candidates upload their approved Social Security Institution (SGK)  documents showing the number of total work days (with wet signature or QR code and verification code including name and surname) to the online application portal as a PDF file. The applications of these candidates will be evaluated by the jury on the lowest ALES quantitative score requested by the program.

Foreign applicants: If they do not satisfy the ALES or GRE score requirement, then they can apply for GRE conditionally. The applications of these candidates will be evaluated by the jury on the lowest GRE General Test quantitative score requested by the program. The GRE exam result documents that meet the GRE score requirement must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by the end of the last business day before the end of the semester final exam dates specified in the Academic Calendar of the registered semester. Students who do not submit their exam documents by this date are dismissed from the program.

For applications for Master’s Degree (Non-thesis) programs, an ALES score is not required for the applicants who have a Ph.D degree/ proficiency in arts/ specialty in medicine/ specialty in dentistry/ specialty in veterinary medicine/ specialty in pharmacology. In the evaluation of these candidates, regardless of the type of score to enter the graduate program or their area of specialty, the ALES score will be taken into account as 75 points. These candidates must certify that they meet the above-mentioned requirements with a graduation certificate or diploma.

3) Educational Information

Educational information (University Name, Department, GPA, grade system, etc.) of candidates who have completed or will complete their undergraduate education in Turkey will be retrieved from Higher Education Information System (YÖKSİS) during the online application and this information will be used in application evaluation. Before submitting their applications, candidates are required to check their educational information via e-Government (those that are continuing their education should check their student certificate, while graduated candidates should check their graduation certificate, and if there is inadequacy and/or incompatibility in their information, they should contact the University where they will graduate or graduated from so as to make the necessary corrections. The graduated candidates that cannot see their graduation certificate on the e-Government should contact the university they graduated from so that the university transfers their graduation info on YÖKSİS and e-Government.

Candidates who have completed or will complete their undergraduate education abroad will enter manually their information into the system.

4) Turkish or English Undergraduate Transcript

It is required to upload either a wet signed transcript, e-signed transcript with a verification code, or a transcript taken from the Higher Education Institution from which the candidate has graduated/will be graduated, or a transcript retrieved from e-government to the online application system (As a merged, single PDF file if the document consists of multiple pages).

Among the candidates that are continuing their education, those who will apply with the transcripts in e-Government, should check the information on the transcripts and if there is inadequacy and/or incompatibility in their information, they should contact the University where they will graduate from so that the university makes the necessary corrections.

Among the graduated candidates those who will apply with the transcripts in e-Government, should check the information on the transcripts and if there is inadequacy and/or incompatibility in their information, or if f there is no information in the education status section that s/he graduated, they should contact the University where they graduated from so that the university makes the necessary corrections in the transcript on the e-Government.

Unsigned transcripts taken from the student information system and/or transcripts uploaded to the system with missing pages will not be accepted and the application will be considered invalid.

Candidates who apply with a transcript in a language other than Turkish or English are required to upload their original transcripts along with the certified translations of their transcripts in Turkish or English as a merged, single PDF file (all pages must be legible) to the application system.

5) Motivation letter (Turkish or English)

The motivation letter describing why the applicant wants to do a graduate study should be uploaded on the online application portal in PDF format.

 

 

Important Information for Application!

Applications for graduate programs will start on  November 23, 2022 and will end on December 15, 2022 (at 17.00).

Candidates who satisfy the graduation requirements and the minimum ALES / GRE score requirements of the master’s degree (non-thesis) programs specified in the link below, as well as the other requirements mentioned above, should apply online and upload all the required documents (Barcode, Datamatrix, Verification code if available) to the application system in PDF format. These documents are required to be complete and legible. Applications of the candidates who upload incomplete, incorrect or fake documents and do not satisfy the application requirements will be considered invalid. Candidates can apply for a maximum of two master’s degree programs.

Documents delivered personally, via post or e-mail are not accepted.

English Preparatory Class Exemption Procedures: The language of instruction at our Institute is 100% English. After the announcement of the application results to the graduate programs, only the candidates accepted to the programs by the IZTECH School of Foreign Languages ​​will be asked to enter information about their English exemption status and upload documents to the application system.

NOTE: It is required that students who are accepted to Engineering Management Non-Thesis Master’s Program and/or Software Engineering Data Science Non-Thesis Master’s Program satisfy at least one of the exemption conditions or pass IZTECH School of Foreign Languages English Proficiency exam. Those students satisfying none of these requirements are not allowed to take English Preparatory Class.
